Just Because You Can, Doesn’t Mean You Should

Ugh, people.

They can be real disappointing creatures.

Even though I know it’s not this way, I have a habit of just assuming that everyone was raised the same way I was with certain morals and values, and time and time again, I find out the hard way that it’s not true.

Or if they were raised that way, at some point they forgot or chose to not remember their raising.

It’s aggravating.

I can’t give voice to the particulars of what has me riled up today, but really it applies to almost any given moral situation that comes down to right vs. wrong.

This is a hill I’ll die on of any moral battleground:

Just because you CAN, doesn’t mean you SHOULD.

Sure, we’ve got the right to do a whole lot of things. But it doesn’t automatically mean that they’re the right thing to do.

See the difference there?

There are a lot of examples that I could list to prove my point, but I’m not going to.

People need to examine their conscience more often and quit worrying so much about what they think “their truth” or “their story” is.

That’s a complete farce and a bull sh** coin phrase that people who wouldn’t know “the truth” if it drop kicked them in the a$$ made up, and people have believed it because it allows them to blur the lines of right and wrong without feeling guilty about it.

And everyone with any sense knows it.

There’s THE truth. There’s right and wrong. There’s good and evil.

It really isn’t that complicated.

There’s my rant for today…For What It’s Worth.
